The Real Revolution is the first complete Playing For Change studio album featuring members of the Playing For Change Band alongside special guests. It’s a purpose-driven collection with a message of connecting the world through music. The songs embody the spirit of love, truth, and unity that bind us together and lead us from darkness to light.
The title track, “The Real Revolution,” features Congolese vocalists Mermans Mosengo and Jason Tamba and offers an empowering reminder that true change comes from within. Fear is the enemy.
“Me Pierdo,” written by Pierre Minetti, blends reggae and Latin influences and speaks to the journey inward and the longing for freedom amid injustice and stress.
The album, including the focus track “Run” (written by PFC Band member Claire Finley), was released on June 24, 2022. “Run” is an uplifting song that inspires looking toward the good rather than dwelling on the past.
The release of The Real Revolution marked the 20-year anniversary of Playing For Change. The cover art was designed by Neville Garrick (longtime art director for Bob Marley and the Wailers), reflecting PFC’s belief that music breaks down boundaries and bridges distances.
